Minority Cell

Minority cell of the college was established with the purpose of empowering the minority communities in the college.

College has been very much keen to provide services to the educational and cultural needs of the Minority community along with other caste, creed and Nationality. The Minority Cell basically helps minority students including Christian, Muslim etc. for their academic development.

OBJECTIVES

To enhance equal opportunities for education of minorities.
To facilitate financial support to students from minority communities from governmental agencies and other sources.
To encourage to enroll for career orientation programmes like WWS,ASAP etc. which would empower and equip them with the necessary skills to choose a career options.

The Nature of Activities of the Cell

The Cell is committed to provide assistance to the minority students along with Scheduled /Scheduled Tribe students through counseling, personality development, development of communication skill, remedial coaching, tutorial classes, and preparatory classes for professional and employment purposes, etc. The Cell is actively engaged in coordinating and resolves the problems in the matter of conduct of remedial coaching and other measures with a view to see that the education system succeeds in bringing to a level quantitatively as well as qualitatively indistinguishable from the level of the rest of the society. The Cell organize several educational Schemes.

Personality Development & Communication Skill, and Counselling

The basic objective of this scheme is to improve personality development & communication skill in competing in the practical filed in-cooperate with Career Guidance and Counselling Cell and Walk With Scholar cell of the college.

Remedial Coaching

Remedial Coaching is to be organized with a view to (a) improving academic skills of the students in various subjects, (b) raising their level of comprehension of basic subjects to provide a stronger foundation for further academic work, (c) strengthening their knowledge, skills and attitudes.

Coaching Classes

The basic objective of the coaching scheme is to help students to orient students to participate in Civil Service Examination.

Coaching for NET/SLET

The objective of the scheme is to train students for appearing in NET or SET, so that sufficient number of candidates becomes available for selection of Assistant Professor in the College/University system from these groups.

Activities

During January-March 2017 also the cell has organised a Kerala Public Service Commission examination Coaching Programme jointly with Entry into Service Programme, SC/ST and OBC Cell for students of various departments.

Another programme organized by the cell for minority students with the support of SC/ST and OBC cells to make aware of the Educational loans & other financial aids.
