IGNOU SC 1407

IGNOU SC 1407 (Indira Gandhi National Open University Study Centre 1407), situated inside the SKV College campus, is one of the biggest study centers of IGNOU in Kerala. The LSC comes under IGNOU Regional Centre Cochin.

The Study Center was started in 1990 and now has thirty one programs and more than three thousand and five hundred learners. The Study Center has a Coordinator and four assistant Coordinators drawn from the academic staff of the college. Support staff of eleven members help carry out work of the Study Center like admissions, classes and examinations.

Note: IGNOU admission process can be completed online using your mobile devices or PCs. If you find any difficulty in completing the admission process online on your own, please seek the help of AKSHAYA Centres in your area. You may also use the paid services of any internet cafes on your own discretion. 

• Assignment submission portal for  TEE June 2021 has started. Last date for submission is  15 May  2023.

To be eligible to apply for the examinations, the learners have to write and submit assignments on those papers. If the student submits the assignments for say, for example 4 papers and manages to take only two exams that session, she or he can take the remaining exams in the next session after paying the examination fee. The assignment marks will remain in the system, and the learner need not submit those assignments again. 

The assignment should be on the latest available question papers, downloadable from IGNOU website. For the latest assignmet question papers, https://webservices.ignou.ac.in/assignments/
The assignments should be handwritten, legibly, on white A4 sheets or in a long notebook. It should be accompanied by a copy of the question paper and a cover page - Appendix 42, which can be downloaded from IGNOU website. You can also check the Downloads page of this website for a copy of the cover page.

The learner can submit the assignments to the address of the study centre by speed post, to reach us before the prescribed due date.

The students should ensure that they have written the assignments themselves, any malpractice will result in their assignment being summarily rejected and no marks will be awarded for the same. Printed assignment too will not be evaluated as per IGNOU guidelines. 

Please note, IGNOU SC 1407 is an ecofriendly institution. We encourage our learners to reduce the use of plastic materials. Please do not use plastic sheets or spiral binding to tie the assignment sheets together. Use a paper punch and tie the sheets together with a twine or cloth ribbon. You can also use a needle and twine to sew the sheets together. Reduce plastic and save earth. 

IGNOU conducts examinations in two cycles: in the months of June and December every year. To appear for the examinations, the students have to submit the assignments for the respective papers and then register for the papers they are planning to write. 

For the June exams, students have to regiter in the month of March, for the December session, they should register for the same in the month of September.

Students can choose any exam centres of their choice. Exam centres are allotted on a first-come-first-serve basis, so the students of the centres are adviced to prepare their assignments in advance and apply as soon as the examination link opens in March, to get the exam centres of their choice. The students can write all papers of that session in one go, or can choose a few papers of that session and take the remaining examinations in the next six-month cycle.

Counselling Sessions:

IGNOU SC 1407 offers counselling sessions for the learners of the centre on Sundays as per the counseling schedules approved by IGNOU RC, Kochi.

The counselling schedules will be posted on this page. The students will be informed of the counselling sessions for their current sessions by a message to their regitered mobile numbers with the days of commencement and the link to the schedule or through a copy of the schedule send to them by post. 

Note: Because of the threat of COVID-19 pandemic, the counselling sessions will be conducted online from this session onwards. The sessions will be conducted by IGNOU Regional Centre directly for learners of all study centres coming under it. Learners will be notified of the date, time, and Google Meet code through an SMS on their regitered mobile numbers. Please check your messages regularly to avoid missing out the schedule.
