LADIES FORUM

The Ladies forum of Sree Kerala Varma College was stared in the year 1997 under the patronage of  Prof.Rajeswari Kunjamma,Prof.A Vijayalakshmi  and Prof.T Usha Kumari. Its inception was during a time when the Staff Club of the College was still just a vision and not a reality. All teaching and non teaching lady staff are members of this forum. It started functioning in a room at the Ladies Hostel and later extended its activities and shifted to the main campus. The forum organises seminars, workshops, quiz programmes,invited talks  etc on areas releavent to the community of SKVC, a majority of which are women. The forum also takes an initiative to celebrate festivals like Onam, Christmas and Eid and in conducting competitions like 'Pookkalam', 'Vadamvali', 'Xmas tree & crib making', 'Mylanchi designs' for the students. Retirement functions are conducted every year for the lady staff and as part of this, tours are also conducted. A regular gathering of retired teaching and nonteaching staff is also arranged by the Forum.
